Crystal Award Nomination

Crystal Award recipients are nominated by the community and selected by volunteer committees. The selection process is based on the Crystal Awards Guiding Principles and specific award criteria.

The Crystal Awards nomination deadline is November 23, 2011. Winners will be notified by April 2012.

 

Crystal Awards - Guiding Principles

 

Although each winner of a Crystal Award brings unique skills, experiences and perspectives to their work and the business of philanthropy, all winners share some common traits that are considered by our review panel as part of their decision-making process. These traits include:

  • Approaching philanthropy with a commitment to ethical practices and donor-centered engagement.
  • Promoting the vision and mission of the organization they represent through their work
  • Encouraging active, meaningful participation by all in philanthropy
  • Advancing and providing service on behalf of the development profession

 

Selection Criteria – Specific Awards

 

Starbright Award
  • 1 – 5 years in the development field
  • Demonstrated outstanding fundraising skills, strategies and/or efforts
Barbara Stallcup Miller Professional Achievement Award
  • 10+ years in the development field
  • Demonstrated exceptional achievements in fundraising
  • Advanced the development profession
Executive Leadership Award
  • CEO, executive director, or other key non-profit leader
  • Significant impact on fundraising for his/her organization
Community Hero Award
  • Employee or volunteer of organization with no dedicated development staff
  • Innovative fund development achievements
